Here’s why we created America’s Summer Roadtrip

Our non-profit organization, The Pursuit of History, puts on annual events that bring together people from all walks of life for a day of learning and sharing. (More about our annual History Camps here.)

When we had to cancel this year’s, some of our History Camp faithful urged us to consider moving the event online. Then we realized that there was something completely new we could do that would transport people to some great historic sites, especially in this year when many are staying closer to home.

Join us on America’s Summer Roadtrip and you’ll learn more about some of America’s great sites and discover ones to visit in the years to come. And participating sites are fulfilling their mission and reaching new potential viewers and visitors.

We hope you’ll join us on August 1. We also hope you’ll consider supporting this effort with a donation or purchase of merchandise.

The Pursuit of History™ is the non-profit organization that engages adults in conversation about history and connects them with historic sites in their communities and across the country through unique annual events, including History Camp Boston (the first, started in 2014), History Camp Colorado, History Camp Virginia, and History Camp Philadelphia (new in 2020 2021) and through video and other online content and events.

We believe that more people gaining a broader understanding of history has never been more important. If you feel the same way, we hope you’ll consider learning how you can be a part of The Pursuit of History.

We’re excited you’re joining us!
