Welcome to America’s Summer Roadtrip!
Explore 12 important historic sites, selected from across the country, free.
We’ll cover thousands of miles and thousands of years of history as these historic sites take us on a special guided tour and show us artifacts and spaces that most visitors don’t get to see.
It’s all a project of The Pursuit of History™, the non-profit organization that engages adults in conversation about history and connects them with historic sites in their communities and across the country.
On August 1, 2020, we live-broadcasted these presentations, which were followed up with Q&As with our site guides. During the day we welcomed thousands of visitors to our website and Facebook to watch these presentations along with us, ask questions, and chat with each other. The feedback was amazing, insightful, and inspiring—and a number of our participants hung in there with us for the full 12-hour live broadcast! Our partner sites went above and beyond to bring us incredible tours, share their knowledge, and answer dozens of participant questions and we are thrilled to further share their tours with you!
Please support projects like this by making a donation or purchasing some fun history-related tees, books, posters, stickers, or magnets. The success of these fundraising efforts and feedback from this event will help us determine future Roadtrips.
Thank you and enjoy these 12 wonderful historic site tours!
